Using each letter of the alphabet, I wanted to share a little bit about my background and things that have happened in my life.

A – Accent: You might not know that I have a southern accent. I was born and lived in Mississippi, so my a have a slight drawl.
B – British: I love to watch British murder mysteries!
C – Children: I have three adult children and they are my life.
D – Degree: I have a degree in education. I earned my Masters in Ed a few years ago.
E – Ehlers Danlos Syndrome: I have a genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I’m hypermobile and my connective tissue is abnormal.
F – Flute: I played flute for 40 years and loved it, until my fingers could no longer work well.
G – Grandparent: I love being a grandparent!
H – Homeschool: I homeschooled my children for over 20 years.

I – Introvert: I am one and that’s fine with me.
J – Jazz: I enjoy and can relax listening to progressive jazz music.
K – Kindergarten: My childhood dream was to become a kindergarten teacher.
L – Learner: I consider myself to be a lifelong learner. Researching new topics is one of my favorite things to do.
M – Motherhood: Being a mother has been my life’s calling. It’s the hardest job I’ve ever done, but I wouldn’t change it for anything else.
N – Natural: I use more and more natural products as I try to remove toxic chemicals from my home and life.
O – Organist: I’m not a great organist, but did take lessons in college.
P – Pianist: I do have a degree in Piano Performance. I wish that I could still play, but it causes me too much pain.
Q – Quiet: I’m a quiet person, typically. I prefer to listen.
R – Retired: I retired, after teaching music for 25 years.

S – Sarcastic: I inherited a sarcastic tone, but I’m trying not to be. People who know me aren’t bothered by it.
T – Teacher: I come from a long line of teachers. In my family, my grandmother, aunts, mother, sisters, and son are teachers.
U – Unlikely: I’m a person who would be unlikely to live a simple life. I craved competition and business when I was younger.
V – Vanilla: My favorite coffee drink is a Soy Vanilla Latte.
W – Warrior: I’m a chronic illness warrior, meaning that I fight hard to live life to the fullest with many chronic illnesses.
X – Xerox: I’m so old that I used to say, “We need to Xerox it” (Meaning that we needed to make a copy of it.
Y – Yardwork: Yardwork was one of my favorite things to do, before my pain got too severe. I love digging in the dirt.
Z – Zebra: Zebras are the icon/mascot for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. The reason for this: Doctors are taught that if they hear trotting it will be horses, not zebras. This means that they shouldn’t look for something rare. But, EDS is rare.
I hope you’ve learned a little more about me. Who we are will influence what we write and how we look at various topics. I hope to learn more about you, too. Share often!

That is very interesting. I am from Alabama, so we talk the same language. I love music but cannot carry a tune, so I can only listen and not teach.
Well, hi neighbor 🙂 Listening is the best, anyway. It can be so uplifting 🙂
For the record, I’m old enough to understand what ‘xerox it’ means, lol. I hadn’t heard of EDS until I found your blog (it wasn’t even called The Frugal Grandma then), so I learned something from you.
Hahaha… We’re not that old 🙂 Thanks for sticking with me!!!
